Hey all,
Since you can region hack a DVD player, I was wondering if you can "format hack" a player. In other words, I have a Philips 751 player that wont play DVD-R and want to know if you can hack it to allow playback of this format. Any ideas? Thanks in advance for any feedback.

i don't think so in ur case.
in the case of mini-dvd i have read ppl do that with some players.
alot of the time format playing is a laser issue which would be hardware. -
Some DVD players can be hacked. The Apex 703, 600A, 660, 500W, 700, etc...etc...has been hacked to disable macrovision, disable region restrictions, and even in some cases hacked to play miniDVD. But it requires a hacker community that is attracted to a particular brand of player. Apex for some reason has this type of community.
