  1. Hey guys,
I have a quick question. I recently bought the blue top Optodisc from http://www.dvd-rwmedia.com/ I was wondering if anyone else has bought these recently and had any problems with them. Specifically with pixelization. Also i was wondering they obviously arent the same dye that is used in the Ritek's does this mean that they will degrade faster? Is there even any evidence that this media actually does degrade? I have made cd-r's and left them in a hot car all the time and they are all still fine. I know that is a little off topic but cd-r's have dye in them too right? So i was just curious was this a wise choice of media?

    Thanks,

  2. Personally, I wouldn't blame it on bad media, but probably bad conversion or burn......... Dunno what exactly you're burning or what method you use so it's hard to know...

It COULD be the media, but it could also be a number of other things. What process are you using?

I've gone through four spindles of 50 blue top Optodiscs since getting my Pioneer 104. The first three spindles were flawless, but I'm having big problems with the fourth.

I've burned about 35 of the 50, and 10 of them lock up and freeze near the end of the disc. No pixelization problems, but the discs just plain stop playing until I hit forward scan for a second or two.

I've not changed anything in my editing/encoding/authoring/burning methods, so I think it's the discs that have changed. And not for the better, unfortunately.

I'm gonna try Samsung BeAll's when this batch runs out.
