  1. I finished a editing job last eve and went to create mpeg. The rendering stops at 18:40 into the process right at the beginning of a clip. I've tried restarting and creating a mpeg over the original one, I've also tried deleting the original mpeg and starting over. But...I get the same results each time. It stops at 18:40 in to the mpeg process at the same point with the same clip.
The edit job plays fine in the editing window through that time line and clip. I've not had this problem before unless...could this have something to do with using a menu at the start of the movie? I've made 6 DVD's without any problems, but this is the first time I've tried using a menu to start the movie.
Anyone else experienced anything like this with PS8?

What other programs will render a mpeg2 from a PS8 created .stu file?

  2. So...What I just did was remove the menu. The mpeg2 is creating fine at this point with the menu removed and it's well past the point where it would quit before. Go figure????

After the mpeg is finished I'll author and burn to disk. Then I'll try putting a new menu and chapter points back in and see what happens.
    Hope I get lucky.

  3. Okay, here's the deal.
When highlighting a clip\(R) Click\ Choose set chapter point, Pinnacle sets the chapter point over too far between the transition and the clip. That's why rendering an mpeg would get stuck at that point. Of course this is not true for all chapter points. Some of them work fine the way Pinnacle sets them. They have to be checked one at a time to see which ones work and which ones don’t. By moving the chapter point over a little more into the clip, then it works and will render the mpeg. Weird. We all should charge Pinnacle for time served getting their program to work.
