  1. I recorded some home videos on my panasonic standalone (DMR E30) to a DVD RAM and wanted to clone it to DVD-R and rip it to VCD. So, I took it to my PC, and it's LG 4020B writer and tried DVD decrypter (no acess to dvd disc), DVDX (IFO parsing error) and Smart Ripper (no acess to dvd disc).
Any fixes or drives missing for this specific writer? Is recording video to DVD RAM a mistake? Did I miss something, any specifics for DVD RAM ripping? It's certainly a shame if ripping RAM's so hard, since lots of standalones record to DVD RAM...

  2. I don't think you need to decrypt your files since you made it.

Just copy dile to your hard disk using windows explorer..

I have the same drive and Ram was working great for backups

I believe the Panasonic records to RAM discs in VRO mode.

Panasonic has some nifty software to help out with this.

Search their Japan site, and OEM site, it was available for download.

  4. Vric, I think I'll have to convert the vros to something else and burn VCDs and DVD-Rs. Disturbed, I followed your lead to the panasonic japan site, but the DVD OEM software download (in japanese!) is password protected. If any one out there can point software to rip or convert RAMs to -Rs, please let me know!

Softarch is available from http://www.driverguide.com/ I got from there some time ago. It's a free registration, then search their data base.
