I captured some video clips from my Canon ZR45 Mini-DV camcorder via firewire using Ulead's VideoStudio 7. I edited the clips and saved them as AVI type 2. I can play them fine on my PC with no problems at all, and can even burn them to DVD using VS7 and the DVD plays fine also.
The problem I am having is when I attempt to export the AVI files back to the DV camcorder for archival purposes. VS7 starts the camera recording and everything is fine, but it randomly studders and ruins the output. I have checked the CPU utilization and it is between 2-5%, and I have turned Anti-Virus s/w and such off but still to no avail.
I have an Intel 1.8GHZ machine with 512MB RAM and over 200GB ATA-100 drive space. I am running Windows XP Home.
Any suggestions would be welcomed and appreciated. :P

I had the same problem with my sony minidv. I reset my computer before I started exporting back to the camcorder and the problem went away. I was using type 1 avi which I think you will have better luck with.
