i know where not suppoesed to ask for warez and advoctae them and stuff, but what if we are asking for warez that are posted on this site, i n the tools section, or anyt other site linked to this site..holla

  2. nope...

Everything here is either a)freeware or b)demo versions...

You'll have to find your warez elsewhere

so i cant even mention the warez in the tools section of this very site....thats kinda ridiculous....cause if were not suppose to ask about em, why offer them then post guides on how to use em....i undderstand there free, some of them, but what i wanna know is can i ask about them, if they are in the tools section

  4. Maybe I misunderstood...you can talk all you want about them.

What I think when someone says, 'warez' is when something is ill-gotten-gain...ie illegally DL'd programs. Everyone here talks about the programs here, but if you've gotten a copy illegally, then most don't want to hear about it as it brings liability to the proprietors of this site

Probably because there aren't any warez in the tools section. Unless you can name 'em and prove me wrong, there's no software listed that isn't now or wasn't at one time commercially available.

Some may no longer be commercially available from the original manufacturer (like SpruceUp or Maestro) but that does not mean it's not legitimately available somewhere.

So basically, if you have a question about Maestro, we're going to assume the positive, and expect you to have a legit copy. Now, if you start talking about the cracked version you have, or ask where to get a keygen or a serial number, then you're asking to have your post deleted and possibly get banned.

    Make sense?

I was trying to think of a short, catchy, easy to remember name for a domain, so I could just tell people I was xx@xx.com, and "housepig" fit the bill, so I registered housepig.com, and it just grew from there.

"housepig" is actually a translation from Korean - my wife spent a few years growing up in Korea, and "jip te jee" (house pig) is slang for "husband". I thought that was hilarious.

    so that's why.

Man I suddenly feel alittle old myself.
Surely remembering when the atari was new dosent mean your old.

yeah, but the fact that long before I had the Atari, I played an old PONG game that looked like an old Army radio-telephone... THAT'S old school...

I remember my friend still uses his old Atari games last year on his TV. He enjoys it and having fun with it.

I don't think the games are available any more. I presume he still got the games console.

damn, i'm starting to feel real young. i didn't hear about atari until i was like 11 or 12 and saw my uncle had an old 2600 in his basement. my first system was an nes.
    His name was MackemX

What kind of a man are you? The guy is unconscious in a coma and you don't have the guts to kiss his girlfriend?

  18. Since we are on the topic of old people and games( housepig, the pong-on-army-radio-telephone, is hella old...... you were middle aged to me with the atari 2600, but the army pong thing put you over the hill... :P )
    Just kidding.

but, what I really wanted to do was post links to classic gaming ROM sites incase anyone was feeling nostalgic and didnt know about them.....

    http://www.classicgaming.com/
    http://home.hiwaay.net/~lkseitz/cvg/nexus/
    http://www.mameworld.net/
    http://www.zophar.net/index.phtml
    http://www.mame.dk/emulators/

Chriscjgs, this may also be how your friend plays old atari games as these emulators can turn a pc,ps2, or xbox into virtually any old console....

for those who didnt know about emulators and roms....have fun, it is a blast playing some of these old, no longer available games....

UPDATE: Thought to add this link....http://www.wired.com/wired/archive/11.05/start.html?pg=11

    Don -

hell yeah, I'm old as dirt. In fact, I remember when we actually used to play outside, and it didn't involve a video display at all....

or the days you went to the arcade to play pinball or air hockey...

and yes, M.A.M.E. rocks. bigtime. I would suggest Pang, Roc'n'Rope, Bombjack and Donkey Kong Jr., as well as Joust, Tron, Qix and Black Tiger.
