Since BestBuy had the Verbatim dvd-r on sale plus the rebates they have been out of stock eversince. So Saturday i went to the website to check to see and sure enough they had some in stock. So i decided to order them on sunday. Now they show that they are out again. Are these discs popular or what?

  3. I just went to best buy over the weekend and the verbatim dvd-r 50 packs were out of stock but they had the 15 packs..they were $39.99 up until a couple of weeks ago..now they are $29.99 without any rebates or anything..

I ended up getting the verbatim 50 pack of dvd+r...Just burned by first dvd with them and they work fine..

  4. Yea, to bad it says, "not avaliable for store pickup". Strange that the DVD+R are always in stock.

  5. maybe its harder to produce mass quanity of dvd-r??????? Their seems to be no difference in both medias and if you have a semi-new dvd player (like one that isn't 4 years old) you should be fine i don't see the reason people are so bitchy. So you might have to pay a extra penny a disc so what its not that big of deal. Both are good quality and verbatim is always the best.

Oh yeah also i seen the dvd+r 50 pack at my local best buy but what i got mad at was they stopped selling online and in stores the 9 +r 1+rw pack those were damn good and had 4x +r media. Now after i am done with my 10 pack now i only have 15 2.4x +r media to use. I wont use that up for probly 2 months but still i would rather have 4x media.

  6. I got the sony dru500ulx for my birthday last month and have used compusa dvd-r,s verbatim dvd+r(just picked up) and I use the sony dvd+rw to test things on and they all have worked in my pioneer 434...

I have an apex 1500ad but I have not tested any in there yet..I am sure they work fine...

I have an old toshiba also I want to test them in...its maybe 3 or 4 years old.

  7. My local BestBuy sells out of any of the DVD-R media they get in a day. I have given up on them for media and just order online before I run out. I did buy five of the 10 pack 1x CompUSA brand DVD-R a few weeks ago when they were onsale for $10 per pack. Thing is they burn at 2x in my Sony DRU500ax and I only have about 10 left but so far no problems at all with this media. Maybe they will have another sale soon.

Verbatim DVD-R is the only media I use, but unfortunately BestBuy is always out. And they have the best price that I have seen so far.

Try and find them in Canada. Staples sells the 2X 3 pack for $19.00CAD, yet their online ordering system says they can be ordered in for $5.05CAD each! Can't get that buying singles in-store though. I have been trying to get indy computer stores to order me in some Riteks or Samsungs but no dice. I guess they don't want to stay in business then as (to them) it appears they are uninterested in my money. Ordering from out of town or out of country is my only resort anymore and it still p**s*s me off that most distros in the US won't ship to Canada. A bad state of affairs all round...

Save on sales tax: buy online. Almost always in stock too!

    meritline.com, goroyalpc.com, allmediaoutlet.com, dvd-rwmedia.com, americal.com, etc.

Yeah yeah, you lucky people in no-sales-tax states leave me alone. At least I don't have state income tax.
I'm not online anymore. Ask BALDRICK, LORDSMURF or SATSTORM for help. PM's are ignored.

Ah! Didn't know that one. But I'm sure you have to pay for something somewhere. Although I bet the gambling makes it less than more. I've done my fair share over the years to help that cause.

Well, it's getting better. I did manage to get Staples to price the Verbatim Datalife 2X DVD-Rs at $3.49CAD by finding a competitor that had them at $4.50CAD each and then using the 150% rule they have with their competition. Make sure you ask them about it though as they will not tell you about it if you don't already know. In the past week, then my price for discs went from $6.89CAD to $3.49CAD for singles. I'm awaiting a spool price though so we'll see how it goes...
