  1. Yeah a weird one. I've done this before but now i don't know what's happening.

I'm burning svcd files as dvd using this guide => https://www.videohelp.com/forum/userguides/139093.php

But when i load an svcd file that's 450megs Ulead says it's 900 megs.
In the clip property it actually does say that the clip is 450 megs...... but in the timebar it says it's 900megs

    The clip propertys are:
    MPEG2-Video
    37.085 total frames
    24 bits 480*480
    29.970 frames/sec
    including adio

Can anyone help me with this one ?

  2. It looks like Ulead re-renders your Video to the Standard-DVD-Resolution: 720x480!

I'm not positive, but I believe it's also converting your mp2 audio to PCM, which is another space killer.

I'd recommend using any of the Sonic or Spruce Products

  5. @Choller:

I just walked to that Tutorial and the first sentence I saw was:
"Convert your videoclips to standard DVD MPEG using TMPGEnc or some other good DVD Encoder. "
The keyword is standard DVD MPEG which means 720x576 (PAL) or 720x480(NTSC). Your Source is different, therefore it will be re-encoded.

From a pro POV, Ulead is junk. It likes to do things ITS WAY instead of YOUR WAY. Get a real authoring setup like DVDit! or maybe the older SpruceUp. It will accept compliant files and let you burn as YOU WANT, not as IT WANTS. Others too, but DVDit! is easiest of them all.

FYI: Everything Ulead makes is a 2nd tier quality program, made for consumers, and while it may be easier, it's not best, nor easy to manually operate. This holds true on all graphics software and video software they make.
I'm not online anymore. Ask BALDRICK, LORDSMURF or SATSTORM for help. PM's are ignored.
