  1. First off, I'd like to thank everyone here for all of the comments and information that are posted on this site. It is simply amazing the wealth of knowledge that is here - I have found it extremely helpful.

My question concerns the compatability of the ADVC-100 with the ADS firewire cards. ADS uses the TI chipset which, I have read, is incompatible with the ADVC-100. However, from what I have read from posts on this site, it seems that some people have had success with the ADVC-100 and firewire cards that use the TI chipset. Does anyone have a definitive answer on this issue?

I am contemplating purchasing the ADS Pyro ProDVD (comes w/Ulead DVD WS SE & Ulead MS Pro) to use with the ADVC-100 and want to know if the two will play together before going ahead with the purchase. If the two won't play together, is there a better firewire card that someone could recommend?

Thanks in advance. I hope to be able to make more useful contributions in the near future. This site is truly an awesome resource.

Sorry, I can't for sure but from what I read, the the FireWire made by DLink have some issues with WindowsXP with SP1 ( that's TI based ) but I've seen some posts that have no problems with other TI based-cards ( not specifically the ADS Pro ).
