    I want send some of my DVDs I have made to friends in Australia. What Do I need to do to make them playable there? Is there region codes to worry about or will a DVD burned by Pinnacle Studio 8 be playable on their DVD?

    They may get problem if you have ntsc dvdrs and their equipment only can handle pal dvdrs but most pal dvd players and newer pal tvs support ntsc today.

    Australia = region 4.

    But if you make your own dvdrs with pinnacle they will be region free.

    Most newer (last 5 years) TV can play NTSC & all DVD players will handle NTSC down here. Region 4 is the official designation but region-free would be preferable. The hard part is burning the dvdr backward so our Oz equip plays it forwards (just kidding with the last part )

    yep we are region 4, but most people are buying region free dvd players. and NTSC is available on most devices.

    unlike our cousins from over the tasman in New Zealand, all there DVD players have to be region free, as it was found to be against New Zealands competition laws.
