Digital Video: Type 1 or Type 2?

Now that I have a Firewire card and a MiniDV camcorder, I'm trying out capturing digital video. Pinnacle, ScenalyzerLive, and other apps give me the option of capturing in either Type 1 AVI format or Type 2 AVI format. What are the differences between these two, and why should I choose one over the other?

you can find most "what is.." answeres under the GLOSSARY section
(blue TABS) to your top left - K?

Here is DV info to read, and scroll down to Type 1 and Type 2.
Also, you'll see a "freeware" tool to play with.

There is also a F.A.Q. too, case you're curious about further Video stuff.
