Recently, I attempted to make a DVD in scenarist using 1/2D1 clips (352x480) to make up for a low bit rate. I know Scenarist will accept normal 29FPS NTSC, but It seems as if it doesn't like a pulled down 23.976FPS clip. When I try to add the assets, I get:
Is there any special flag I can use with pulldown to make Scenarist like these files better, or are they simply unusable with Scenarist?Error : Number of fields (45) in GOP(# 2) or between sequence_header_code should be equal or smaller than 36.

This has nothing to do with your fps, it has to do with your GOP settings. Make sure you have 1 sequence header set per GOP. I have seen people report this problem when they don't set TMPGenc to close GOPs, and sometimes also with CCE, though I never close GOPs in CCE and never seem to have any problems.
I frequently import 352x480 23.976fps with pulldown assets in Scenarist with no problems. If you use TMPGenc to encode you might want to consider closing GOPs if you don't already. -
I use TMPGEnc with sequence headers set and the 18 frames/GOP max, but hadn't thought to close the GOPs, thanks.
