I have two VHS tapes that are old and degrading fast. i know where to get another copy of each. i want to put the new ones on dvd but they are storebought and no services will allow it because it says it's copyright infringement. these videos will never come out on dvd, ever. i want to know if there is a no question's asked video transfer service that will do this for me. it's like this, im broke and don't want to buy a dvd recorder for like $1000 for a two job deal. waste of money, hands down. help another video out.

If you purchased the VHS tapes, you own them. You can make copies of them for your own personal use. As long as you don't intend to sell them. You are legally within your rights to make any copies you like. I find it hard to believe that any service would tell you no. You should let your fingers do the walking in the yellow pages, and find a service that will. Myself, I would just convert them on my own. You can start in the Newbie section....

Why do you think it would look like crap? Even the freeware/shareware tools out there will let you produce excellent quality captures. It would require you to have some sort of capture card though. They are easily found in the sub $100 range for lower end cards.
