  1. i have prassi primodvd 2.0 (w/ px engine update) and a friend of mine has recordnow max..

    when i burn discs through primo it gives me the option for recording type as;

    Track At Once (TAO), Closed
    Track At Once (TAO), Not Closed
    Disc At Once (DAO), Closed
    Disc At Once (DAO), Not Closed (Session At Once)

    i usually go with disc at once, closed.

    with recordnow max all of the "disc at once" options do not exist.

    i've heard it said that "track at once, closed" provides better compatibility among standalone players and that is why they removed the option from recordnow max.

    is there any merit to that statement?

    should i be burning in "track at once, closed" instead of "disc at once, closed"?

    i hardly ever use dvdrw discs, so thats really a non-issue.. i'm just looking to create the most compatible standalone dvd-r & dvd+r discs.

    thanks for any help anyone can provide.

  2. From my experience, DAO closed is what you want. TAO will just burn each file at a time, while DAO will just burn all files as one... I see no difference between one and the other besides if you mess up on TAO -- whatever you burn so far will work, while if you mess up on DAO -- it might not work..

  3. i dunno its weird.. the discs he burns seem to be as compatible as the ones i burn.. i'm just curious if anyone knows for sure whether i should be burning track at once, closed or disc at once, closed.
