  1. Hi All,

So the story goes, I have downloaded a bunch of AVI files and some of them don't play in any programs I have tried (Windows Media Player 6.4, Power DVD, Premiere 6).

I installed the DivX Codec 4.01 and all Windows Media player does now is play the sound.

Has anyone had this happen to them before? What kind of AVI's are these and how can I view them?

    Your help is appreciated, thanks

I had the same problem. I fixed it by uninstalling my codecs and then installing kristal studio pack. Since then i have been able to play every divx that i have downloaded. The ones that have had problems since then i have been able to fix with Divxfix.

  3. Hey Bruser, thanks for the reply.

Do you mean when you say you "uninstalled your codecs" you simply went to add/remove programs and uninstalled your DivX Codec?
