  1. If any of you know how to use Recordnow Max to burn movies from Video_TS files, could you please explain. Is there an online guide for Recordnow max? Prior to using Recordnow max, I decoded the dvd move using Dvd Decrypter and compressed and edited out additional menus and options with Dvd2one. Please give me the step by step guide. The options provided by the Wizard don't seem to match what I want to accomplish: 1.Make an exact copy 2. make a music disc 3. Make a data disc 4. Return to stomp. Which option do you select if you are trying to copy Video_TS files and burn them into dvd which can be viewed on a regular home dvd player.

I use Nero, but would like to try record now max since I have it and hear that it makes for better compatability.

I'm pretty sure that you can't use the wizard. I think you choose the data option for DVD.

Can someone shed some light on this?

    Thanks!

  3. When I create video DVDs (either my own, created in an authoring program, or a ripped DVD back-up using freeware/DVDxCOPY/etc.), I typically use the "Create a Data Disc" option in the RecordNow wizard, unless I am attempting to overburn, or something else that requires some fine-tuning.

Then I add in my VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders just as I would any other data, give the disc a name, and burn.

I have only been doing this for about 4 months or so, but this always works for me. I have noticed that a number of people say that you must create an image file and burn that to DVD instead, but I've never had to do this. Does anyone know of a specific situation where it would be preferable to create a disc image instead of VIDEO_TS/AUDIO_TS folders? As I said, I've never had problems with just burning the folders as data, but...

  4. Just open RNow and close the Wizard first. ON the category pane select DATA disc and when the add files screen opens click on add files. You should have already created a VIDEO_TS AND AUDIO_TS folder where you put your decrypted movie. Just select the video one, hold shift and select audio folder too. If it is selected correctly, you should now have both aforementioned folders and each should have little symbols above left of each folder that looks like a music note symbol. Next, go into options and place a checkmark on disc at one CLOSED. Then click the red record button, sit back and enjoy...Hope this works...laters

I use the wizard every time - the "Create Data Disc" option in the wizard is all I need unless I'm trying to overburn, etc.

If your version of RecordNow has a "Create Data Disc" option in the wizard, then you're ready to go...

  6. I have used the Wizard mode a few times myself, but just wanted to explain to the other guys having problems using Rnow. I just don't use it b/c I don't like the way it is setup. Always ejecting the blank and asking me to put blank disk in even when I already had one in the first place.

  7. Yeah -- I've found that it would pop out my DVD tray if I had to switch the "burn to:" drop-down from my Plextor CD-R to the DVD-R. Since I only use RecordNow for DVDs, I just have my DVD-R drive set as the default -- no pop outs!

(Note to companies: making "pop-outs" the default action when starting or finishing a burn really sucks -- some of us have doors to our cases which might snap shut during the burn, and some of us have limited desk-space and might accidently/temporarily put fragile or spillable objects in front of our external drives...but of course, we only make these mistakes once...)

I was just sticking to the wizard since bboysoldier asked about the options available in wizard. Your way works correctly, too.

Anyway..I really should do some actualy work today...

I use RecordNow Max exclusively to burn backed up DVDs and Home movie DVDs.
I have burnt both by burning the VIDEO_TS in Data Mode and the image file (.iso) in Image Mode.

If you use the Image Mode, it will automatically create the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS files on the disk.

If I use the Data Mode, I only burn the VIDEO_TS folder and have never created an AUDIO_TS folder to burn. Every one of these disks play in both my Sony DVD player and PS2.

RecordNow Max has been perfect for me, much better than Nero...

PS - It has never "popped out" the disk for me. I just load a disk in my drive, open RecordNow Max (with wizard disabled), choose Data or Image, select my DVD drive, and load the files or image. Only popout occurs when it is done burning.
    Use what works for you...
