I would like to be able to record a movie on a video camera, and transfer it to my PC and burn it onto CD-R as SVCD quality. I'm assuming a DV camera would be the best choice and then transfering to the computer via firewire. could someone explain the process in depth and if its even possible to get SVCD quality onto a CD via a camera. also camera suggestions would be nice. My budget is $250 possibly $300.
thanks in advance

If buying a DV camera is supposed to be included in your budget... forget it! Even the black market wouldn't give you it for that cheap!
