  1. Hello

Since I purchased a 1,7 ghz machine to replace my PII now my old ATI ISA TV-tuner is useless since the new motherboard has no ISA slots and I was wondering what TV_TUNER card would give the best quality in the price range of 0 to 100 euro (or USD)

My plan is to capture AVI from tv broadcasts and from VHS tapes and encode to DIVX and PAL SVCD/VCD.

  2. The Leadtek TV2000 XP Deluxe is a popular one. I am using one right now and it's a great value. You should be able to find it for about $55-60 US.

  4. I would recommend a card based on the nwere conextan chip or a philips chip. Xcapture uses the latest conextant chip but the Leadtek use the older chip. I believe Leadtek will be realising a newr version of th card.

If you looking for just capture and no TV tuner then I would suggest the Xcapture.

  6. Thanks for the suggestions.

I definetely need a TV-Tuner since it's cheaper than buying
    a new tv-set

    My OS is WinMe

    Can all tv-tuner cards capture ..let's say 640 x 480 ?

I can't find Leadtek or such in where I live...lots of
Hauppauge, Terratec, Hercules, Ati, Pinnacle, Canopus Magic and Lifeview.

They told me at my local shop to purchase a Hercules stereo-tuner...

go to www.newegg.com for the leadtek, it gets 640x480 and more. like i said $60, if you are going for a tv-tuner this is one of the best out there.
