dvd-r priced at 10 cents?

i noticed dvd-r prices dropped a bit but they are stable at 70 cents and up..

how long can we expect the price wars on them to dip to cd-r price range? like 10 to 25 cents more or less?

Remember, a lot of 100 Bulk Pac CDR's still retail for $69.95. You can still get 50 CDR's for under $10.00 with varius rebates, but not at any time you want. Somewhere in between is a anytime price (for me it's $19.95 for 50 24x disks anytime).

I regulary see 1x DVD-R for $0.69 in 50 packs, anytime price. Persoanally, about the time a 4x is common and 8x DVDR is commonly available I expect media to be under 50 cents for 2x and under 75 cents for 4x. I expect 8x to be about $1.45 or so. This is based on historical pricing. Also, Blue-ray will be out, and I expect CDRW to disappear and DVDRW to repalce it ( like CDRW replaced CDROM).

pricing at 0.69 is not fair those have a 20% failure rate as quoted by the people at merritline and shop4tech, 100% reliable ones are still .99 by mail and over $3 locally, I get 100% reliable CD-R's locally for $14 for 100 pack, the cheapiest 100% reliable locally I can get is $49 for a 30 pack for DVD+R's(name brand also), no -R's can even come close to that price locally, by mail sure the -R's are $49 for a 50 pack - merritline brand, which are even more reliable than the ritek's I have been buying.
