my Equipment: Canon GL1, Sony DRU500ax, 120 HD, and assorted software programs.
I want to make a home family DVD from my GL1 footage for TV viewing. What kind of resolution can I expect to view on the TV? Will it be full screen?
And how could I make a DVD of a full mens basketball game, shot with my GL1? It would be about 45 minutes worth of footage. Is there a way to get the full 45 minutes onto one DVD with only a 120MB Hard drive? Has anyone ever done this type of project?

Did you mean 120gb hard drive (instead of 120mb hard drive)?
Yes, you can work with a 120gb hard drive and put 45 minutes of very high resolution video on a single DVD disc.
Ulead DVD MovieFactory 2 is a good entry-level application:
