I do a lot of home video editing and then burn to DVD. I mainly use Premeire and Ulead to capture via 1394. Premiere captures AVI type2, while Ulead captures AVI typ1. I know Type2 has video and audio on seperate tracks, while type1 has them joined. I also know type2 is slightly larger in size (18min. = 4 GIGs) vs. (20mins. = 4 GIGs) for type1. Premeire and Ulead will work and convert to either format, but will only capture to one. I have read the Quality is the same. What I want to know is, Why does Premeire use Type2 and othe video editers use type1? Does one have any advantage over the other? I don't care about file size, just quality.
