new bug identified and I think this is the answer to the undersizing issue!

    it's provisionally called the'static' bug

it greatly affects movies with 2.35:1 aspect ratio that have black bars within the actual frame image as I found out with Road To Perdition tests just now

this will affect any DVD that has black bars included within the image, but it will also affect DVD's that have long periods of darker images and also showing the same image during continous frames

    more detail here http://www.deano.dsl.pipex.com/backup/sizing.htm

    hope Pinnacle see this

When I seen the topic of this post I new it was you, and I just wanted to say great job. I read the document that you wrote and thought about when I backed up my copy of Road to Perdition and had no problems with the final size but the copy that I purchased is in 1.33.1 FULL FRAME. I am glad we have people like you,TGPO,BALDRICK,SEFY AND MANY MORE determined to help people and solve some very confusing issues.

cheers, I'm famous cos just my Post titles get recognised now

but surely the Author column wudda gave the gave away?

I'm only after one thing, as are probably everyone else who creates backups and that's the best possible quality/content backups and if I warn others of what I find then maybe it will help in getting better results

  4. MackemX,

You're a genius! Your guides have been a tremendous help in the past three days since I received IC7, upgraded to "114" and did the MagicDVD thing.

Do you have any idea why my IfoEdit doesn't work ever since installing IC7? I deleted it then re-unzipped it, all to no avail. Using P4-2.38 MHz with 256MB DDRAM, W2K SP-3, yada-yada.

Keep up the great work, and glad to also see you at DVD-Education.com!

    Cheers

I presume you are using Ifoedit version 0.95

goto your WINDOWS folder and delete the Ifoedit.ini file and Ifoedit will work again

do this everytime it displays Ifoedit 0.94 in the top left corner as it sometimes happens when you do an illegal operation in Ifoedit
