I'm considering the external DRX 500 ULX instead of the internal DRU 500 AX. Are there any issues I should be aware of? Any difference using USB 2 vs. Firewire? I have both. Any difference using either of these vs. internal IDE?
Anything I'm missing here?
Thanx

I've had the drx500ulx for about three weeks now... I must say I have absolutely no complaints.... Backed up about 20+ movies in my collection so far without any coasters and did some data backups with dvd+rw... Haven't had one problem so far.. It's a great drive in my opinion if you can afford it... I use firewire on my main desktop pc, and usb 2.0... not a big difference in terms of speed but from reading forums on this drive and the previous predecessor (drx500ul), people seem to have better experiences with firewire(ilink) so that's probably the main reason I bought a firewire card just for this drive.. hope that helps...

Don't forget that there is always option to buy internal IDE burner and put it into external case (enclosure)
That is what I have. I saw also some problems with USB that were fixed by switching to FireWire.
