  1. I would like to make a video clip that contains 10 or so smaller thumbnail sized video clips superimposed in it... similiar to the fancy dvd motion menu vobs showing clips from the different chapters...

Whats the best video editing tool to achieve this..

    Thanks,
    Will.

  2. I've heard (might not be true) that you can use Adobe After Effects to achieve a scene selection menu type of thing... I haven't try it myself so I have no idea if it works...

Did I read somewhere that AVIsynth could do this? I know some of the spiffy realtime editors can do this, but it'll cost ya. I'd be interested to know which apps can do this as well since I won't be getting the Canopus Storm2 Plus bundle until later this year.

  4. There are several different ways and programs that can accomplish this. Both After Effects and Premiere can do it. Here's one way of doing it in Premiere.
Import you video clips and drop them each on a different layer (track).
Then use a transformation filter or motion settings to transform/"zoom-out" each clip into a thumbnail size.
Then arrange these clips in rows on the screen.
Encode your clip and import into your authoring app.

  5. Studio 8 has that function also. As usual its a pain.

I thinks its a built in function in Premiere. I did do one in version 5 with no addons.
