Changing chapters... ?

I imported a VOB into Movie Factory 2, but MF2 created a separate clip/MPEG for each chapter! Plus, chapters 7 and 14 don't seem to be valid MPEG files.

I'd like to totally re-chapter this existing DVD on a new DVDR, removing some commercials, adding a nice menu, and putting the chapter stops in more appropriate places.

I imagine the first step would be to get the MPEGs from the VOBs and combine them. What software would do that? (MF2 seemed to corrupt two chapters/MPEG clips when it did the task.)

Next, I'd need to be able to edit out existing commercials. Maybe MF2 will do that, but I'm not sure.

Any guidance would be appreciated.

I don't use MF2 but you might want to try to demux the VOB files to seperate m2v and AC3/PCM audio streams. Then load/edit them as desired.
