  1. i have been browsing for a while looking for this question/answer. haven't seen a conclusive answer yet.

the dv stream contains a date stamp (trv27 camera). but when i capture the video/audio i can not find a way to get the player to display the date or to gat the capture software to extract the date stamp.

the camera claims to support this, but is appears this to be true only when playing the video out the video port. the documentation mentions nothing about this when dumping to the 1394 port.

the capture software, mgi videowave, which came with the 1394 port does not seem to have any options, that i can locate, that allow the date stamp to be viewed.

these are videos of the kids and i would really like to be able to put a date in to some of the capture video.

is this date stamp extraction a function of the camera or the capture software, or even the author software? is there any capture software that allows this?

    thanks kevin

  2. Never heared any. Easy fix is to add overlay title in your editing soft.

  3. I'm having the same problem too. Are all digital camcorders unable to transfer the date code when capturing to the PC.

When you have young kids, you take alot of video stop and go. It would take forever to add a title overlay for all the scenes.

Is there a better solution? Such as software that can read the date and time stamp of the DV and layer it in so when you burn it a DVD, you can know how old your kid is?

    Please help anyone!

    Thanks,
    Ally
