  1. It's an XVid NTSC Film avi. I go to convert to VCD with TMPGenc and it gets about 30 minutes into the movie and you can see it freeze on the same frame every time. The audio keeps going. The avi plays fine all the way through. I have no idea what's going on.

    Anybody?

  2. Ok so I've read and seems I have bad frames. But the only program I can find that will fix them is AVIDefreeze and the file is gone or something from the website. Any other programs? All I can find is DivX fixers. No other XVid avi fixers???

  4. Well I used Vdub to find bad frames, then did direct stream audio and video and saved AVI. TMPG still hangs at the same spot. What else can I try?

You didn't delete those bad frames. Make sure after VirtualDub tells you how many bad frames there are to find and delete them. VirtualDub MP3 creates a log file which tells you where those bad frames are.

  7. Goodness. Well I'm checking for freeze frames again. I thought I did something to the effect of deleting them but I may not have. Where is the log? I looked through the dir and didn't find one. Is it deleted when I close out the session? I think it's time to try another encoder.

  8. I did freeze check again and clicked on Delete Frames. It appeared to do nothing and it still locks up on conversion. How do I find and delete bad frames? I can't find a log file anywhere.

You have to delete the frames manually, here's the guide: https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=142555
If you follow the instructions you can't go wrong. The log is found at C:\badframes.log
Keep at it, you're on the right track!
