Does MMC8.1 work on non-Radeon cards?

Has anyone gotten MMC8.1 to work on non-Radeon AIW cards?
I am unable to get it to set up for my AIW 128 16MB AGP128.
I downloaded, install DX 9 and the other software it requires.
Please tell us your steps?

No luck so far (AIW 128 pro). The installer just silently dies shortly after starting. No error messages or anything

The February 2k3 WDM capture drivers work flawlessly, though... but I had to hand-install them one at a time using device manager -> upgrade driver

Same results here, I had thought 8.1 was supposed to be backward compatible, maybe they just meant older Radeon cards.

The only good news is that it took me 6 or 7 tries to get MMC 7.7 to work, latest driver update finally did it, maybe the same will happen here or wait for 8.2?

Or maybe I finally chuck my AIW 128 for a new Radeon, I hear the 7500's are being marked down.

I may just get a 7500 anyway. Best for your $$$.
