I have an ATI Radeon AIW DDR32 (7000-series chipset), and run a hybrid of MMC 7.1 and 7.5 right now. It works fine, except interlaced video is not great, looks jerky after I put it onto disc (with DVDIt! PE). I do have recent (August 2002) Catalyst drivers running.
Anyway, ATI claims MMC 8.1 has video filters and is better at interlaced video.
I mainly capture cartoons, which looks twice as good interlaced. And tapes can always use a few filter.
Now before I possibly screw up a working system...
Anybody out there suggest MMC 8.1? Or against it?
If so, do you capture toons, or interlaced video, etc ? And does 8.1 still let you capture cropped video and 48k audio? My current MMC only allows 44.1k audio capture (have Soundblaster 5.1 card).
Thanks.
