  1. i have downloaded various xvid and divx encoded movies, and as various people have said, re-encoded the video with tmpgenc plus, after extracting the audio seperatley with virtual dub.
my problem is that the film plays fine when played on my computer but is totally out of sync when about one hour in to the film, i have checked the frame rate, to create pal or ntsc discs, encoded the audio in 44khz and 48 khz, all of which have not helped. i am using dvd movie factory 2, which i find is great, except for the sync issue, any ideas, as i have tried various different films all of which have the same problem. I am based in uk, so pal is the format we encode in (i encode in ntsc if the file is 23 or 29 fps but my tv and dvd will play ntsc fine too.

  2. Have you tried saving the video file so that it doesn't have an audio file? In other words you will have separate audio and video files. When you save the wav file, the video file still has the avi audio attached to it. You may need to have a video only file to go with your audio only file.

  4. has anyone else had problems with xvid avi files and encoding/authoring them?
I wonder if all the codecs interfere with each other, i have ffdshow also on my system, what makes me wonder is that they play fine until they are authored with mf2, does anyone recommend any other authoring systems that deal with xvid better than ulead movie factory 2????
