Just buy one and paint it... its quite easy. If thats a no go I know once place of seen them but $300 dollars for a black faced DVR-A04 is way more then a little steep.

  3. DVD Addict,

Almost all brands come in black, .Just look at the link that flaystus posted. You'll have to search to find the brand you want.

I just looked and fryes they have the cendyne units in black (aka Pioneer) and cendyne always have a rebate on them seems like there is a rebate every other week at either officemax or staples- not sure if they stock black but check it out. www.tigerdirect.com has black units as well

    Hope this helps

  4. another way may be to buy whichever model that you want (at a good price) and then replace the faceplate.

This is the one I bought, a Pioneer 104 OEM. Under $200 (+free shipping!) and this place was great to deal with. Fast shipping and good customer service.

Laserdiscs are cool, but laserdiscs on DVD-Rs are cooler.

I purchased a CenDyne DVR-105 with a black front (pioneer A05) last week at Frys for $197 after rebates. In fact the Black fronted units were the cheapest.
