  1. Hi:

I capture with VDub, encode with TMPGEnc and write a VCD/SVCD using Ulead DVD Movie factory.

Everything goes well except the VOLUME on my VCD is unbearably loud. WHen I play it in my DVD player, I have to keep the volume setting on my receiver to almost 1/50th of the max (i mean really really low).
Also while playing the VCD on computer I can feel the VOLUME is really loud and sort of getting clipped.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

    Bobby

Check the volume setting in VDub. If you already had, it would help if you mention it in your original post, along with what you already have tried.

  3. Tommy thanks for quick reply.

Infact even if I donot capture with VDub, straight mpeg capture with my mmc (ati AIW 138), the mpegs play just fine but when I create the vcd, it has the same problem.

Havent tried much else coz I dont know what step do i need to control the volume and where do i do that?

Anyways any suggetions are welcome and appreciated.

Since the volume is affected the same way with multiple capture programs, I would turn down the audio input level for the mixer on your computer (this would affect both programs.) and make tests to determine the proper level.

  5. Just a thought, in TMPGEnc check the audio tab, is audio edit ticked?
I usually up mine to 200%, is yours just 100%?
