  1. Hope this is OK to post in this forum. I use Premiere 6.5. I have a P III 600 MZ with 512 ram. I have upgraded to a Celeron 2 Ghz with 512 ram. Will I see increases in rendering time, etc. Should I have sprung for the P4 1.7 instead? I just want to see an increase in what I was using before

    Thanks a bunch

  2. You should be fine. With the Cel2.0gig the p4 might be a tad bit faster but if you want to save a little money I do not think it's alot faster if you want speed get a 2.4 or 3.0. I use AMD and every thing is fine. I have a AMD 1.8 and rip DVD's alll the time and use DVD2ONE and encode DVD's in 17 minute's. P4's have SSE2 there is software that use's it but that software still run's on SSE 1 SSE 2 a little but faster. There is software that only can be use with SSE 1 and if you have p2 that software will not work. No one can really give you a yes or a no. The besy way is to have two pc and run a test and see how much faster the P4 is but I bet it's not that much faster. But I would have gotten a AMD over the cel. But that's me
