I currently have the Samsung 16X (16X my a$$) drive, but of course there is a lock on it so I can only rip at 2X MAX. My question is, which DVD-ROM should I buy which I can be guaranteed to get at least 6 or 8X? I've heard good things about the Liteon 16X, but nothing else. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,
Mike

Take a look at the Pioneer slot 106S...Gets up to 10X rips. Best of all, I got it at new egg for $40 including second day shipping.

I acutally think the Liteon 16X works really well. Funny thing though. When I bought it, the box indicated that it was Model 163, however my bios reads it as Model 166. Nevertheless, I've maxed out a 8X speed when ripping DVD9's.
