  1. Sorry for the long post, but I have to vent. I have been lurking in this forum for quite some time; posting only occasionally, but reading almost everyday. There are a few things I believe that we in the user community have come to take for granted.

    Let me begin by thanking Kai and all of the other developers who make these projects possible.

    First, the software is free. Free. FREE! Gratis for those that prefer Latin. Instead of saying thanks, we complain. Always consider what you write in your posts. Remember, you are criticizing someone's work. You _MUST_ expect that they will take that personally.

    Second, look in this forum, use google, and experiment, before you post a message here. I cannot believe how many questions are asked, and complaints are made, with the answer less than 10 posts away. I figure about 50% of the posts could be eliminated if the same complainers would just read.

    Third, you cannot do what these developers do. You have no programming/coding skills. So, learn to code, don't use the software, be constructive, or STFU! It's that simple. If you don't like the station, change the channel.

    Finally, SOFTWARE HAS BUGS! Geez, anyone who has used any Windows machines knows about bugs. For 3 years I thought the Blue Screen of Death was the Windows startup screen. The problem is, that as Mac Users we have come to expect that everything will work flawlessly. Well, it doesn't. What Kai does is very complex, intricate, and requires meticulous attention to detail.

    Kai, a little advice, for whatever it's worth. (Remember, the advice, like forty-two is free):

    1) Get a thicker skin. Don't let the b@stards bring you down. Your product, bugs and all, is way better than anything else out there.

    2) DON'T ERASE THE PRODUCT. If you get fed up, release the code and let others continue your work. Build a legend, sortof a Founding Father for the best easy to use DVD Software.

    3) Some of these people might be trolls. The best way for the RIAA to win is to smack down those smart enough to do what you do. If the trolls can piss you off enough, you go away mad. Don't fall for it.

    4) For every pissant that criticizes you, there are hundreds of people who use your product. Remember, people complain when they are unhappy, but, seldom do people compliment excellence. Just look at any customer service department in a store. . . Loads of complaints, very seldom praise.

    5) Finally, let me reprint the incredible words of President Theodore Roosevelt:

    "It is not the critic who counts; not the one who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better.
