    I'm using dvd2one and when it asks me to check which audio I want I know that I want the 6channel for surround sound, but what is the 2channel and do i need it?

    It depends on the particular DVD. Sometimes it will have a 2 channel alternate language ie: French or Spanish. Other times it may have a 2 channel director's commentary track.

    If you rip with Smartripper you can go into stream processing and it will tell you information about each stream. You can also analyze the IFO file with IFOedit after ripping the DVD to your hard drive.

    So what if I keep both the 6 & 2 channel which are both in english....will this in anyway interfer with the surround sound on the dvd?

    Always select the first audio channel listed in order for the DVD to auto-play the sound on your DVD player. If you want to see what each audio steam is put your ripping program in stream mode and it will list all the streams on the DVD.
