I've created a cDVD using Avid, TMPGEnc, and DVDit PE. Part of why I wanted to do it as a cDVD is because of duplication and distribution costs. I've created menus, graphics, five "chapters," and a sound track for the menu. I also wanted to have a pure DVD too.

To cut to the chase, the cDVDs I've made don't seem to run on ANY computer I try it on. If I burn the CD with high speed burning, it won't play on older CD drives. If I burn CDs with lower burn rates, I seem to have problems on newer CD drives. I have both a Pioneer DVD burner (slow CD burning) and a Lite-on 52X burner, and have tried both CDs from both drives.

Part of the problem MAY be the free WinDVD that I'm allowed to distribute free on the DVDs from DVDit PE. It may be part of the problem, in that, on some systems I cannot get it to run off the CD, but I CAN play the cDVD using a licensed PowerDVD player I own on the same system. (But I want people that get the cDVD to be able to play it even if they DON'T have a DVD player.)

Anyway, any comments relating to FREE DVD players for Windows, or proper settings for burning CDs for the best and highest probability of the cDVD being readable on ANY PC, or even suggestions on how to convert the cDVD into a SVCD (my DVD has menus, buttons, next, previous, etc. on it and I'd like to maintain that if I switch formats) would be appreciated.
