I copyed Predator II dvd that I've had for a while. The disc is old and I was wondering why the copy has glitches in it towards the end. I used dvdencrpytor to make an exact copy (disc is dvd-5) and was wondering if this is common with dvd backups? I am new to this. I backed up Fast and Furious and a couple of other movies without any glitches. Just wondering if I should use DVDXCOPY to make backups instead of dvdencryptor. DVDXCOPY seems to have no problems.

Hi m8,
i dont have much experience with dvds as i tend to concentrate on SVCDs. however, i am pretty sure that DVDXCOPY is a good piece of software and so if you have it you may as well use it! also, i wasn;t aware that DVD Decrypotor allows you to copy a dvd, does it not just copy the video files to the hard drisk??
If it starts to mess up near the end of the DVD then have a look at the Original disk to see if there is any scratching near the outside of the disk. if so then you problem is probably due to your dvd drive struggling to read the video. Try watching the ori9ginal dvd and seeing if your pc struggles to play parts of it. you can buy DVD cleaning machine/gagets which are pretty effective at removing minor scrtches etc -
One interesting tidbit is the fact that I just played Predator II on my computer and the part where it had glitches had NO glitches... I bet it's my Panasonic RV-32K dvdplayer.. I might have to swap it out for another brand... anyone have this problem?

M8, try playing your backed up dvd in your pcs dvd drive. this will tell you if it is your fussy dvd player or more likely a problem with the dvd itself

I did play it on my PC, no problems. It's my pos dvd player. I am going to farkin' return it for a Sony.

Then again it could be the blank media you used...this happens alot on cheap media...there could be tiny imperfections on the outer rim of the blank that are causing your problems. try again with a better media maybe? worth a shot. it's easier than replacing the DVD player.
