    I found out that my dvd player will only play dvd-r/-rw. Which shoots me getting an HP 200i. Because it burns the dvdr+. I guess my only option is to look at the sony drx500ulx.. which says it will burn both? I have read posts that it burns the +'s fine.. but I dont seem to find where it burned the -'s with the same success?

    Can anyone confirm if this unit will burn both types? Thank you

    I would not get the sony drive I had two of them nothing but problem's. I would say get Pioneer AO5 or the Cendyne 105 . The Cendyne is made by Pioneer . Also DVD+R will not play with BLUE LASER that's HD DVD that are coming out next year or two. The people that run DVD there website is www.dvdforum.com

    I have a DRU500a which is the internal unit. I haven't had a problem burning anything from day one. It burns - and + with no problems.
