  1. HI The xvid is a dvd s******r, why is it jerky once converted to MPEG? a freind of mine says that i shouldnt convert xvid files or divx files, is he right?

  2. No he's not. Not about divx anyway. DivX .avi files convert just fine using tmpgenc, although you may have to rip the audio separatey using VirtualDub. read here :arrow: https://www.videohelp.com/divxtovcd.htm#audio

    Be sure to convert to same as the original
    25 fps to 25 fps vcd pal
    23,976 fps to 23,976 vcd ntscfilm
    29,97 fps to 29,97 vcd ntsc.

    Use avicodec or gspot to identify the video source

  4. well, i did convert using temgnc, and virtual dub 4 the audio, it was almost perfect, the audio was fine but the pic was slightly jumpy. so if the source is ntsc, and i convert to pal is this why it is a lil jumpy?

  5. It very well could be. I'd try another to see if it does any better. divx conversion has aways worked great for me though!

  6. thats 3 now, all still the same do u use default settings with tempgenc? i have followed the tutorial from this site, a tutorial often gives an overall setting, maybe i need to change something.

  8. It could be, depends on your RAm and your processor. I always just leave it alone while computing, it puts a big strain on everything. To speed up the process you can set the task priority to high both when the omputer is active and when it is idle. You do this with one of the option bars across the top.
