hi,i have a dvd i wanted to copy.i manage to have the video_ts folder on my
desktop but it was 6.8gb!! the dvd is single sided,arent these suppose to be
max 2.6gb? or am i missing something,how can it be so big? thks.

yes it is single sided but in your case it is also a dual layer disk, if you pay close attention while watching the moive part way though there will be a slight pause in the video, that is the point in which it is switching layers, each layer can hold approx 4.4 GB, so that is means that it could have been as large as 8GB.
I would say from the disks I have seen that 6.8 is fairly average size movie for a dual layer disk.
Now it it was a single layer disk you could make an identical copy of it, including menues and everything. You will have to re-encode the video to get it to fit to a DVD-R. You can learn how buy reading posts in this forum.EarlyGrace
