I have a stack of old VHS tapes I want to convert to DVD.
I'm planning on getting the ADVC-100 or DAC-100. I've tried using capture cards before, but i always seem to have audio synch or other problems.
Any recommendations on a VCR to get? I have a 10 year old model without S-video outputs. I'd like something cheap, and more recent.

Hi!
Try to get a JVC with Noise Reduction Filter And Time Based Corrector and S-Video Output.
Good luck!Jose Febus -
You could get a JVC HR-DVS3U or one of the older versions such as the HR-DVS2U. This VCR would take the place of the ADVC-100 since it has a firewire in/out port.
I am about done transferring about 50 VHS tapes to DVD and this VCR has worked great for me.
If you take to time to run the captured video through virtualdub using 2d and temporal video noise cleaners your DVD will look almost like you bought the original DVD. The resolution of course won't be as good. -
I didn't know that VCRs like that exist.
I was hoping to spend a little less than that though.
