  1. Thanks to Mactrav for helping hunt down dumb save path bug that was preventing discomVOBulator from working on the Startup Drive.

    Probably after 6PM EST.

And for the 3 of you here that are interested, switchable audio tracks, subtitles and other niftyness is up and running on our internal builds...

Ok, the subtitles are a bit funky, but hey, they are *real subtracks* so if they are too ugly for ya you can switch 'em off.

Nothiing like Blazing Saddles in French with Spanish Subs to brighten your AM...

  2. That's great. Just paid. How does the registration work? Haven't seen a serial number yet?

This program so far has been great. This is the program I've been waiting for!!! Will test a few disks before posting my results.

One question. On your site, you show the Mash DVD season 3. Each title is about 25 mins. Will there be a way to consolidate multiple titles in situations like these? One blank DVDr disk per episode isn't very practical.

Looks like I dodged that startup disk bug by using my slave drive... cool.

I appreciate what you're doing for the Mac platform,

I'll send one out to you shortly. Need to *re-send* a bunch of them due to that bug

Thanks...after looking at the situation in general, DVDX Copy, speed and price of DVD-rs, I figured that at least 3 oother folks would probably appreciate something like this.

Disco goes *pretty far* in what it does (bending the line) but not *quite* as far as DVDX Copy. They *knew* that the MPAA was going to skewer them and are using it as part of a grass-roots effort to "fight back".

    I wish them well.

Chris made those screenshots, since episodic DVDs are quick to test.

Unfortunatly, since disco doesn't "clone" DVD's the logic for doing something like the Mash Disks is...tricky, and is a Post v2 thing. But yep, it's on the RADAR...I'm looking into a way to do multiple titles *easily for the end user* so until I can work that out, its not available

This is a commerical product, so we wanna keep the "hassle" factors as low as possible

Yeah that one was a bit of a puzzler until we had 3 people do three different things at the same exact time with the same DVD. Then it became obvous

Glad you like it. The next full version will probably be more useful to you

haven't had a chance to play with this new one yet, but to be honest this is just what I have really been wantitng all along.

VCD and SVCD formats are great in general, but DVD is really so much better.

Once I grab the update and have some spare computer time between projects (gotta work...) I'll give it a few tests and let you know.

By the way - 1.5.1 - better all the time!

    Thanx!

  5. Thanks.

The motivation behind this one was *speed*. I just don't think its *worth* it to have to wait forever and a day to squeeze something down to 1 dvd, just to in essence say you did it.

I've been using SVCDs forever, so if I gotta switch the disk then for me personally its no big deal..."Coca=Cola and Popcorn during the interval" time

The version I'm working on now (now in beta...I've been working on disco for awhile now) is a bit nicer and more compatible with more standalones. Its also a whole lot faster

Also since it doesn't re-ecode the video, you get results in about 2 hours, even on G3's...

All of my kid's movies seem to fit on 1 dvd-r anyway and they could care less about the menus and whatnot, so its saving me headache, personally.

Especially since I now know I don't have to buy *yet another copy* of Toy Story 2
