  1. I have a Sony VAIO, it came with a Sony MPEG encoder/decoder card installed. It allows me to play DVD's thru the computer and out to a TV using Sony's DVD player. But I cant figure out how to play files off my hardrive and get it outputted to the TV. The only program that has a setting for 'output to TV' is the Sony DVD player, and that doesnt allow you to play files off the drive. Does anyone have any info on what I can do? Or am I limited to what Sony has given me?

Try to use the "subst" command:
    subst h: c:\xmen
and be sure that the directory structure is the same as on the DVD. E.g. c:\xmen\Video_ts etc.
