i have a problem with flaskmpeg. After converting a file to divx it crashes in the last 3 seconds. It happens everytime with every divx codec and every video. The problem is you are able to play the output file but if you want to edit or cut it you get error messages.

FlaskMPEG..Hmmmm. It was a long time ago. Are people still using it? What is it that FlaskMPEG can do and others can't?

If you like using flaskmpeg try Xmpeg instead. It's based on flaskmpeg with a nearly identical gui. It's more stable than flaskmpeg.

I quite like flask..used it almost from the day it was born back in the very early days of ripping. Im just used to it and find it easy to use, it can use a number of plug in encoding engines like LSX and CCE.
I find it pretty stable now but then again i only use it to convert to DVD format, its quicker than Tmpeg not divx. -
Hey guys i tried xmpeg, liked the gui, but i have the same problem as described on top with flaskmpeg. It crashes on 100 % i can play the avi file but cannot edit it. Anybody has a tip for a encoder i could use that is similar to flaskmpeg or one which has at least a good crop tool ( i missed that in several other encoders). Or a good tool that repairs avis, i tried divfix but it couldnt help me. Or i need a tool that cuts and joins broken avis. I tried virtualdub but when i cut or join an avi that ive created with flaskmpeg it crashes.

FlaskMPEG takes hours to re-encode files, I had to stop using it. And, I have a fairly fast computer. Try TMPGenc, it's better but you still get "Audio Out of Synch" with it. But, it processes video much faster!

Try DVDx. It can make avi, vcd, and svcd videos. It is freeware listed in the tools section. It is not as versatile as xmpeg but when you have the finished avi you shouldn't have problems editing it. If you want more info on encoding divx films go to www.divx-digest.com. It is an entire web site devoted to divx. By the way, what kind of error messages are you getting when you try to edit the films?

Nothing wrong with ancient history.
I still occasionally bang the rocks together with FlaskMPEG (and yes, I used the other tools listed as well). Sometimes this just seems to be the only one that reliably keeps audio sync. Who cares if it takes forever if you kick it off when you go to bed - it works and has a clean one-product interface with good results.
(Sorry, but I have no answer for the original problem - just wanted to add my 2c worth)
