Does your player recognise a DVD as CD?Can it play mpeg from an ISO FS?
If yes, you could try to burn a SVCD mpeg directly on to DVD (if your burning program allows that).
Otherwise: look in the forum/how to s how to convert SVCDs to DVDs without converting (give attention to the 44.1->48 KHz audio issue)

I'm using UELAD MF for creating the SVCD and burn with RecordNow Max.But I'd test these on RW before burning to R.But beware, most standalone player don't regard DVDs as CDs.If you insert a DVD, it normally expects a DVD coplaint file system, i.e. UDF (for Video incl. VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS) file structure or an ISO FS (for playing mp3).If you put your mpeg on an ISO FS (you can use NERO for this, jsut create a Data DVD), you must be sure, your player can play mpeg files (not only (S)VCD, but mre mpeg). There are few player, which can do that (I heard Scott is one of them).
