  1. I use TMPGEnc's auto bitrate setting for VCDs, then I use VCDImager to generate an image to burn with Nero, but when I try to make a VCD with Nero, the MPEG doesn't fit. The size bar's well past the 700MB limit. This also happens if I use the auto bitrate setting to fit an MPEG onto an ISO CD.

Has anyone else had this problem?

    Thanks in advance.

  2. A VCD image can be up to 800Mb for an 80 mins CD. This is possible because they are burnt to CD in mode2 which omits a lot of extra error protection data required for normal mode 1 data CD's. The error protection is already present in the mepg stream so is not required.

    Why are you doing so?
VCD always must be set at bitrate 1150kbps. When you're creating VCD and you go below this bitrate and you then use VCDimager to build a cue/bin (or nrg) cd-image, VCDimager will 're-padd' the mpeg so it _does_ match the 1150-bitrate streaming. So this way, your vcd will go bigger than that 700MB you mentioned, and possible even bigger than 800MB.

Anything other than 1150kbps will be a XVCD. :P
