I have a few captured videos of Saturday Night Live and when I go to make them into a dvd-r and play it in my stand alone dvd player the resolution looks bad. Its pixely and not as clear as what it looked like on tv when i captured it. The resolution of the movie is 352X240(or something like that). Why does it not look as good when i play it on my dvd player compared to what it looked like on tv when i was captureing it. Is there any way to make it look better??

Your question is very very vague....
There's about a million ways to make it look better. What program are u using to capture it? Are u connecting via s-video or composite or...? What bitrate are u using??
There's one important thing you need to realize and that's that resolution has nothing to do with quality. Video is not like a .jpg picture. What matters in video is bitrate. Higher bitrate=higher quality. From my experiences you choose a resolution for 1. Match your target medium, 2. can have slight effect on fast motion cap vs. slow motion cap 3. Depending on what medium u want to burn to (i.e. 480x480 is not DVD compliant).
Quick lazy way to improve you quality is jack the bitrate.
To further optimize, read up on interlacing, 3:2 pulldown, A vs B field, capturing to raw .avi file, converting to mpeg file ..etc Like I said vague question with many answers,
