how do i rip the audio of a 5 channel sound xvid? i use virtual dub but it doesnt accept the audio. someone help me so i can convert it to svcd!

You might not have the appropriate codec installed
for AC3. Use gSpot to check if you have the codec.
Otherwise you should just open the xvid in VD and select
Audio->Direct Stream Copy and save wav.
Then rename the .wav to .ac3.
Also you have to fix the ac3. Use Besliced, drag the ac3 file to Besliced and select "Fix file".

You need to have direct stream copy selected to save the audio in vdub. You cannot use full processing mode and uncompress it like you would an audio stream with VBR.
You will then have a wav file, rename this to ac3 and run it through ac3fix, as when vdub saves it it creates problems with the file header.
You can then either convert it to 2 channel wav with headac3he, or keep it as 5.1 ac3 for use in your authoring program.
