I'm not sure this is the correct forum, but I couldn't decide which one was!
I don't have a DVD writer, but I have a short video clip that I'd like to put onto CDR at DVD resolution.
Is this possible? If so, do I author using any particular tool?
What compatibility issues might I encounter?
Am I mad?

Experiment.

Thanks for the info.
I will experiment, I just wanted to know I wasn't completely wasting my time for a pretty pile of coasters
And according to the DVD Player list here, my player supports miniDVD too -
You'll only get about 10 minutes of play (with compressed audio) on a CDR, using around 7000 kbits/sec. That might be overkill, but even at 4000 kbits/sec, you'll get about 20 minutes.........

ULEAD DVD MovieFactory does a nice job with miniDVDs. You get the advantage of "hot targets" for navigation like a real DVD.

I was hoping not to re-encode at all
@filmjax: I'm saving up for a DVD-/+RW
